At the end of my student teaching placement at Fossil Ridge High School, I had students fill out a google form evaluation of my time with them. These are just some of the questions I asked (in white) and the answers they gave (in blue). This feedback is from an Advanced Drawing class and two Pottery classes. To see more student feedback, you can click "Advanced Drawing Survey" and/or "Pottery Survey" at the bottom.
In this class, what did you learn about yourself, your ideas, your ability, and your personal expression as an artist?
I learned that its okay to fail, to practice, and to not give up.
I learned that when I have an idea I can make it real and be proud of what I have done.
I learned how to take on several challenges and that it is okay to struggle, it can show growth
Describe the ATMOSPHERE of this class. How did you feel about coming into Advanced Drawing and being in this class?
This class has felt like my safe haven, I have never not been happy in the room and working with clay
I really liked being in here because there is always someone to help and you get a lot of freedom to do what you need to do in order to get everything done on time.
It's a very relaxed yet productive environment where everyone is very supportive of everyone else's work.
What assignment did you like the best and why did you like it?
I like the self portrait drawing the best because I recently got to look at my self portrait from freshman year and I can see how much I've grown
I liked the portraiture assignment the most because people are my favorite thing to draw, it combined concepts we learned, and we could use a reference picture to draw which I'm best at.
When did you feel like I as a teacher was working hard for you and/or challenging you?
I think that you worked really hard for everyone in the class all the time because you always make sure everyone stays positive about their work and always assist everyone when they need it.
I feel like you expected a lot from me so it motivated me to do better
Whenever I had a question you helped right away and were very good at explaining things easily to me when I was confused or needed help.
You helped me with lots of things and I'm thankful for that and you also supported lots of my crazy ideas, you also challenged me to try new thing or do things in a different way!
