In this class, what did you learn about yourself, your ideas, your ability, and your personal expression as an artist?
I learned that we have endless capabilities which just take time and effort to unlock. If we put in everything necessary we can create something breathtaking to express ourselves and our emotions.
I learned that expression through painting really helps me deal with my emotions and problems. Now I know that painting can help me escape.
In this class, I learned that it's okay to mess up and that is just part of the experience of art. "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents" like bob ross says:) I also learned that art is a wonderful way to express myself. Sometimes I don't really like to express my thoughts by words, but I've learned that I love to express myself through art
Describe the ATMOSPHERE of this class. How did you feel about coming to Painting (Ceramics, Honors Art) and being in this class
I really loved the atmosphere of the class. With the music, it was very calming and it felt like a very friendly environment. It seemed like that there was no way I could do anything wrong and I was around friends
happyyyyyyyyy
This class is very fun! You are a super nice and "comfortable to be around" teacher. That is how I would describe it. You control the class well without being forceful.
I felt like it was always the class that would put me in a better mood.
I thought ceramics was fun, and I loved how Ms Mills was always willing to help with anything we needed. The atmosphere of the class was friendly because we were able to sit by people we wanted, and Ms Mills was not only a teacher but a friend.
I loved it! Everyone was so nice and supportive, and it was by far my favorite class. I knew when I came that I could be myself and people would accept that.
It was friendly and inviting, and I had a lo of fun in it, as I felt like I could talk and people wanted to hear my opinions.
I loved it. I felt likeI was in my element. I made friends. It was great. there is almost nothing I would trade for the experiences I had in that art class.
I was always excited for painting because Miss Mills was such a great teacher and she didn't just teach us she actually got to know us a bit more and made an effort to ask us questions
When did you feel I, as a teacher, was working hard for you and/or challenging you?
I feel like all the questions I had were answered and each project was a little harder which I liked was challenging
All the time. You always made sure that I felt like I was going at a good pace and never late. Thanks for always reaching out and making me feel welcomed.
I know you worked hard to be able to show us how to make the mugs by doing everything before the class started. you also challenged to do something a bit more difficult than what we thought we could do.
I feel like when you were explaining the rubrics and expectations along with introduction the projects was a good time when you were working hard and showing your passion for teaching art.
I think that you are an amazing teacher. I could tell that you were passionate about everything that you taught and you challenged me to be the best version of myself. Thank you
Whenever I would ask you a question you would just hop on board and give me a lot of information and not make me feel dumb about asking it!
All the projects that we did were so well thought out, they seemed designed to challenge and help us grow as artists. Even after we all started working at home you found a way to make us excited to make new and interesting projects that we all enjoyed.
I felt as if you were challenging everyone at the beginning of new projects, you told us to do things that we weren't sure we were capable of. Like in the monochromatic painting, you told people to choose something like medium and spicy.
I liked how you were patient with everyone and you would answer all their questions. I felt challenged when you told us to come up with something creative, and I had to push my self to think of something.
Thoughts on critique days? Did we like them? And if "kind of", what specifically did or didn't you like? What could make them better?
I love critique days because people really told the truth and said what we should work on and I think that really helped our art be the best it could be and the compliments were really nice too
I loved them! It gave me a goal to work towards as well as great, uplifting happy comments to keep me going and helpful and friendly critiques that helped me improve.
